President al-Sharaa visits Hama in support of “In Devotion to Hama” campaign
President Ahmad al-Sharaa arrived in Hama on Saturday evening to take part in activities marking the “In Devotion to Hama” community fundraising campaign to help rebuild war-damaged areas.
Speaking at the event, President al-Sharaa praised Hama for its “sacrifice and devotion,” saying the city remains a source of strength rather than concern. He added that “the wound of Hama is not only the concern of its people, but of all Syrians,” describing it as a trauma that has persisted for more than four decades.
The president called the city’s liberation a turning point in the battle against the former regime, portraying Hama as “a school of sacrifice, patience, and renewal.” He added that Syrians must build their future on “the painful lessons of the past” without losing sight of them
President al-Sharaa also highlighted the role of Hama countryside in the Syrian revolution, noting that these areas “paid a heavy price” and called for rebuilding of their destroyed and damaged cities and towns.
President al-Sharaa credited what he described as a “broad coalition of actors within the Syrian revolution” for securing military gains, adding that a “similar unity” among Syrians is now needed for reconstruction. “The challenge ahead requires the combined efforts of all Syrians in the battle for rebuilding and prosperity,” he said.
