Jordan reaffirms support for Syria’s unity and stability

Amman, Jan. 12 (SANA) Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan reaffirmed his country’s support for Syria’s unity and stability, and for the extension of its sovereignty over all its territory, in addition to supporting efforts to build its institutions and advance reconstruction

Hassan stated, in an interview with Jordan Television on Sunday, that “Syria’s success is a success for Jordan and for the entire Arab region,” stressing that Jordan is doing everything it can to support the Syrian people and enable them to rebuild their state and institutions, so that Syria may return as a prosperous and secure country.

Hassan condemned the policies of Israeli interference and aggression against Syria, noting that his country is working with the Syrian side across various fields to provide possible support, and expressing Jordan’s desire to be a partner in the reconstruction process.

Regarding the cooperation between the two countries, the Jordanian Prime Minister stressed that Syrian security is an inseparable part of Jordanian security, and that the long shared border makes the issues of security and water central and strategic matters, pointing to positive indications from the Syrian side in this regard.

With regard to the regional railway connectivity project, Hassan explained that Turkey and Syria have expressed interest in linking with Jordan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, noting that these projects are of a strategic regional nature and are expected to become a reality in the near future.
