PKK and SDF organization use ousted regime loyalists in Aleppo attacks, source says
Damascus, Jan. 13 (SANA) An intelligence source confirmed Tuesday that the SDF organization are recruiting individuals wanted by the Syrian state, as well as fugitives, in exchange for allowing them to remain in SDF organization-controlled areas.
The source told SANA that large numbers of the ousted regime loyalists and people wanted for various crimes have joined the ranks of the SDF organization, noting that these criminals are being recruited with support from Iran and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
The source also stated that PKK terrorists, in coordination with the SDF organization, are responsible for targeting Aleppo with Iranian-made drones, and that they are providing remnants of the ousted regime with explosive devices and tools for booby-trapping to attack civilian gatherings, as well as Syrian army and security forces.
Furthermore, the military intelligence apparatus has successfully foiled several terrorist operations during escalations by the SDF organization in the Sheikh Maqsood and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods of Aleppo.
Earlier today, the Syrian Army Operations Authority declared the Deir Hafer and Maskaznah areas in Aleppo countryside and their surroundings as a closed military zone, following the SDF’s continued mobilization of its forces along with PKK militias and remnants of the ousted regime. Citizens were urged to stay away from SDF organization-controlled positions in the area.
