Syrian, French Foreign Ministers discuss bilateral relations in Paris

Paris, Jan.6 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Assad Hassan al-Shaibani met on Tuesday in Paris with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-NoΓ«l Barrot.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed issues of mutual interest and explored ways to strengthen strategic partnerships between Syria and France, according to a statement by Foreign Ministry on its Telegram channel.

The Ministers also discussed the possibility of French companies resuming operations in Syria, particularly in sectors linked to economic activity.

Barrot reaffirmed France’s commitment to supporting Syria’s efforts in reconstruction and economic recovery, and to expanding cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

Minister al-Shaibani has arrived in Paris, accompanied by Head of General Intelligence apparatus Hussien al-Salameh for negotiations with the Israeli side under U.S. coordination and mediation.
